Spring Crop Star Anise in 2021 

New crop materials have been arriving to the local market since January. The bad weather has affected the crop quality a lot, making fresh star anise flowers die and drop.

On the other hand, Chinese people keep buying in a bulk quantity fresh star anise flowers. Overall, the total harvesting quantity of Star Anise this crop is lower than every year, and the prices are considered as the highest prices in history.

(Canh dan Star Anise has gone up to $12,000/MT FOB in March)

Offered prices went up by 35-45% within 2 months. Compared to same period 2020, prices are 2 times higher.

The harvest started in January, peaking in February and finish in April. During this month, it is forecasted that the number of buyers will increase while the quantity of goods is limited. So it is difficult to predict that prices are likely to drop this month.
